The story
iCaur’s official UK announcement, dated 14 October, sets out an early-2027 British debut led by the V27. The Club reviewed the manufacturer’s UK release and model information on 2 November, strengthening the sourcing of our original 17 October report. iCaur is a separate Chery-group brand, rather than a new JAECOO trim.
The club view
The family resemblance is corporate; the buying decision still belongs to the exact car. For JAECOO owners, this is a useful development to understand as Chery broadens its British presence. For potential iCaur buyers, the next worthwhile information is the UK specification, complete price and support arrangements. A launch plan is the start of that conversation.
What has been announced?
The official 14 October announcement describes an early-2027 UK debut led by the V27. The Club first covered the launch on 17 October using Autocar and Auto Express reporting. Our 2 November update adds the manufacturer’s own UK sources; it does not represent a new announcement made today.
Read iCaur UK’s original release. This establishes the brand’s stated plan, rather than a guaranteed delivery date for an individual order. We have not road-tested a British customer car.
Is iCaur part of JAECOO?
It is a sibling brand under Chery, rather than part of the JAECOO model range. The official UK release says iCaur will operate independently with its own team and route to market. Common ownership does not establish interchangeable vehicles, parts or warranty arrangements.
For the family tree, see who makes JAECOO. Our UK JAECOO model guides continue to cover that range. An iCaur announcement does not change your J5, E5, J7 or J8 specification.
What do we know about the V27 for Britain?
The official UK V27 page, reviewed on 2 November, describes a five-seat 4x4 SUV and an advanced electrified hybrid powertrain, with full details still to follow. It says UK pricing will be confirmed closer to launch.
That narrows the broad launch description without completing a British specification sheet. We are not importing overseas battery, range, charging or towing figures into the UK offer.
The real photograph here shows an overseas V27. It helps identify its appearance; it cannot establish the equipment on a future UK derivative.
- Final powertrain, battery, homologated range and efficiency figures.
- UK trims, equipment, cash prices and complete finance terms.
- Confirmed charging and towing specifications.
- Ordering and delivery dates for actual customer vehicles.
- The retail/workshop network, warranty wording and roadside support.
20 October update: is the newly revealed V25 coming to the UK?
Auto Express reported on 19 October that iCaur has revealed the V25, another SUV in its overseas range. The publication attributes a response to iCaur saying that UK plans for the V25 have yet to be confirmed. That is a separate position from the reported early-2027 British launch led by the V27.
For a UK buyer, the distinction is straightforward: a global reveal does not establish a British order book. We have no confirmed UK V25 specification, price or delivery date to add. The photograph on this page continues to show the V27, not the V25. Read Auto Express’s V25 report for the original reporting and attributed UK response.
2 November source update: iCaur’s own 18 October V25 global-reveal release also states that UK plans for that model are unconfirmed. Its V27-first UK plan remains separate. This adds direct manufacturer sourcing to the clarification we published on 20 October; it supplies no V25 UK order date.
What does this mean if you already own a JAECOO?
The sensible response is interest, rather than assuming a change to your own ownership arrangements. This launch story supplies no evidence of a JAECOO warranty extension, a software upgrade, a trade-in scheme or access to another brand’s workshops.
Keep using the support route and documents that apply to your car. Our JAECOO warranty guide and servicing guide explain the questions to ask. A growing group can offer more choice; it still has to deliver the right support for each customer.
Should a buyer wait for it?
If you need a car soon, compare vehicles that you can inspect, quote and arrange support for today. If your timetable is flexible and the V27 interests you, wait for the actual UK documents before making a financial commitment around an overseas review.
Start with your own requirements: passenger and luggage access, parking space, charging access, journey pattern and local servicing. Once UK demonstrators and specifications are available, test those needs against the actual version. Styling can earn a place on the shortlist; it cannot complete the checklist.
The official model page currently offers an interest-registration route and indicates retailer and test-drive information is due in late 2026 or early 2027. A signup is not proof of an open order book, an available test-drive appointment or a confirmed delivery slot. Check the current terms before paying anything.
Does the launch mean British production?
The official launch release says iCaur will use the UTAC Millbrook research and development facility for UK tuning. That is a stated engineering plan; the wording does not establish a completed opening or UK production allocation for the V27.
We cover the separate Nissan–Chery study and proposed UK design headquarters in our manufacturing article. The tariff explainer distinguishes policy proposals from confirmed charges. Neither supplies a missing V27 price.
The club view: another badge, the same useful questions
For an independent owners’ club, the interesting part is what follows the launch announcement: useful specifications, demonstrators people can try, clear contracts and support that works when needed. We will keep those questions attached to the V27 story as the British details emerge.
This report introduces the announced plan. It makes no recommendation about reliability, off-road performance or long-term value for a UK car we have not tested.
Research sources and methodology
Checked 2 Nov 2026. Original written launch reporting reviewed on 17 October 2026. No first-hand road test, UK delivery or final UK specification is claimed. The real overseas V27 photograph is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0 and is labelled with its actual market context. The 20 October update draws on Auto Express’s 19 October V25 report and its attributed iCaur response. The Club did not independently obtain that exchange or inspect the V25; overseas technical speculation is not used as UK specification. On 2 November the Club directly reviewed the official UK releases dated 14 and 18 October and the current UK V27 model page. These strengthen source attribution, not the age of the announcement. Final UK specification, delivery and production claims remain qualified.
