How to use the JAECOO 7 SHS 360/540 camera

Use the JAECOO 7 SHS panoramic camera, Control Center, steering linkage and transparent-body setting, with earlier-layout differences.

The February 2026 J7 SHS manual opens AVM from the pull-down Control Center and combines steering and indicator activation under Steering linkage. This differs from the earlier PHEV interface.

Supported models and trims

JAECOO 7 SHS/PHEV: Luxury / Black Luxury SHS-P, and earlier PHEV versions with the described equipment; this is not an SHS-H guide

UK manual review; not a hands-on vehicle test. A missing menu may reflect equipment or software; this guide does not promise a feature can be enabled.

Before you begin

Park safely before changing settings. Match the powertrain, equipment and screen layout to the handbook for your own car. A manual describes possible equipment; it is not confirmation that every UK trim has it.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Park, unfold the mirrors and close the tailgate. Turn vehicle power to ON.
  2. While stationary, slide down the audio screen to open Control Center and tap AVM. Alternatively, select R at low speed to open the camera view.
  3. Tap the 3D button to switch between 2D and 3D. Use the wheel-side button for that view.
  4. Open camera settings. Steering linkage enables activation during a large steering turn or with the indicators; change it only if you want that behaviour.
  5. Use Vehicle auxiliary line display for guide lines, Parking radar display for radar information and Transparent vehicle body for vehicle-model transparency.
  6. When not in R, use the exit button to close the view. The newer manual says shifting out of R exits AVM; switching power off or exceeding 30 km/h also exits it.

Earlier PHEV screen: October 2024 manual

With the car in READY and travelling at no more than 30 km/h, the earlier manual opens AVM with its audio-screen switch or R, uses separate 2D and 3D view controls and documents a 15-second delay after shifting out of R. It has separate indicator and steering activation settings. Follow the layout on your car rather than assuming the February 2026 interface was installed by an update.

About the “540°” description

The manual verifies four cameras, stitched views and a transparency setting. It does not make the view a dependable detector of everything under the vehicle. A blind area remains a reason to stop and check, not a reason to trust the graphic.

Troubleshooting

  • No picture: first check that your car has AVM and meets the power/speed conditions. A reversing camera alone is not proof of a four-camera system.
  • Distorted or poorly joined picture: unfold the mirrors, close the tailgate and check the camera surfaces for dirt. Do not move the cameras to realign the image yourself.
  • Black panel or fault message: stop relying on that view and arrange retailer inspection. A black area is not evidence that the space is clear.
  • It opens when indicating: review the turn-signal or steering-linkage option described below. This can be a configured behaviour rather than a fault.

Safety and limitations

  • Look around the vehicle and use direct observation and mirrors. Check for children, animals and low obstacles; the display has blind spots and delay.
  • The image is not a precise measurement of clearance. A transparent vehicle graphic is not a guarantee of a live, unobstructed view under the car.
  • Do not adjust or dismantle cameras. Keep lenses clean without scratching them, and follow the handbook’s washing guidance.
  • Practise in an open, safe area. The system assists parking; it does not make the manoeuvre for you.
