The J8 handbook documents a physical massage switch and centre-screen adjustment for the front seats. It describes three intensities, five driver-seat modes and an automatic stop after about fifteen minutes. Rear-seat equipment needs a separate check.

Supported models and trims

JAECOO 8 SHS-P: Luxury / Executive, subject to the seat and equipment qualifications below

UK manual review; not a hands-on vehicle test. A missing menu may reflect equipment or software; this guide does not promise a feature can be enabled.

Before you begin

Park safely before changing settings. Match the powertrain, equipment and screen layout to the handbook for your own car. A manual describes possible equipment; it is not confirmation that every UK trim has it.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Park and put the vehicle in READY. Identify the massage function switch for the seat you are using; do not confuse it with the seat-position controls.
  2. For the driver’s seat, press its massage switch to start.
  3. To adjust the driver’s massage, open Audio System → Vehicle Setting → Vehicle Comfort → Driver Seat Massage. Select the desired mode and intensity.
  4. For the front passenger, press that seat’s massage switch. Adjust it through Audio System → Vehicle Setting → Vehicle Comfort → Copilot Seat Massage. “Copilot” means the front passenger.
  5. Expect massage to stop automatically after about fifteen minutes. If you need to end it earlier, use the clearly labelled off control on the fitted system; the cited text does not establish a universal long-press or double-press stop gesture.

Modes and intensity

The driver-seat description lists low, medium and high intensity and wave, catwalk, cross, ease and jump modes. These are the manual’s names, which may be translated differently on a car. The passenger adjustment description uses up/down to move through modes and left/right to increase or decrease intensity.

Second-row massage: equipment and a handbook error

JAECOO UK’s model page specifically associates second-row massage with the Executive six-seat layout. The manual marks second-row massage if equipped, but its opening instruction incorrectly refers to the front-passenger seat. It then illustrates a rear-seat control and gives directional adjustment instructions. Consequently, this guide does not turn that copied sentence into a supposed rear-seat activation procedure. For a rear seat, have the retailer identify its massage switch and demonstrate start/stop on the fitted control. The manual does not support a claim that every seven-seat J8 has rear massage.

Other models

This guide covers J8 only. No seat-massage procedure was found in the supplied J5, E5 or J7 manuals; that absence is not proof about every future trim.

Troubleshooting

  • No massage menu: check that the relevant seat has the equipment and the car is READY.
  • Massage stops after a while: about fifteen minutes is the documented automatic cycle.
  • The rear controls do not match: do not follow the front-passenger wording in the rear subsection; get a demonstration for your seat configuration.
  • Abnormal operation: stop using the feature and arrange inspection rather than dismantling the seat.

Safety and limitations

  • Adjust settings while parked. Massage is a comfort feature, not a substitute for a rest break when tired.
  • Keep the seat mechanism clear and do not operate a passenger’s controls without checking with them.
