The story
OMODA&JAECOO says it has launched eight regional Super Parts Hubs across Great Britain, operated by retailer groups. The stated aim is to bring genuine parts closer to workshops, reduce repair delays and complement the RAC vehicle-off-road support arrangement. This is a manufacturer announcement about capacity, not a guaranteed delivery date for every component.
The club view
More stock nearer a workshop is encouraging. But a warehouse announcement and a repaired car are two different milestones. If your car is waiting for a part, the useful answer remains a named component, its current availability and the next confirmed step.
What to ask when your car is off the road
Ask the workshop to separate diagnosis, repair approval, part ordering and arrival. Find out whether the item is in regional stock, central stock or on back order, and request the next update date. An estimated arrival can change; keep it labelled as an estimate rather than treating it as a booked handback.
How we should judge the improvement
Dated experiences will tell owners more than a launch headline. Record the date the required part was identified, when it was ordered, when it arrived and when the car returned. Keep complicated repairs separate from routine consumables. A quick delivery of a wiper does not tell us the lead time for an unusual drivetrain component.
Positive news, with a practical test
We welcome investment in support. The sensible follow-up is whether owners receive clearer communication and shorter waits for the parts they actually need. We will continue to record individual experiences without turning a small, self-selected sample into a brand-wide performance score.
